Appointment of a Non-Executive Chair to the Southern Health and Social Care Trust

Health Minster Robin Swann, has announced the appointment of Ms Eileen Mullan as the new Non-Executive Chair of the Southern Health & Social Care Trust (SHSCT).
Ms Mullan's appointment will begin on 1 December 2020 and will run for a maximum period of 4 years. The Non-Executive Chair of the SHSCT attracts a remuneration of £30,924 per annum and carries a time commitment of 3 days per week.
The Board of the SHSCT is made up of 5 Executive Directors including the Chief Executive, a Non-Executive Chair and 7 Non-Executive Members.

Appointments and reappointments to the Board of Tourism NI

Economy Minister Diane Dodds has announced the appointment of three new members and six reappointments to the Board of Tourism Northern Ireland.
John West, Anya O’Connor and Patricia Corbett have been appointed as new members, with the appointments commencing on 31 May 2020 for a three year period.
Terence Brannigan has been reappointed as Chair and Angelina Fusco, Terry McCartney, Michele Shirlow, Colin Neill and Geoff Wilson as members to the Board for a second year term of up to three years with effect from 1 April 2020.

Reappointment of council members to the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland
11 November 2020
Health Minister, Robin Swann has announced the reappointment of two serving Council members to the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland (PSNI).
The PSNI Council comprises of 14 Non-Executive Members (7 registered persons and 7 lay members)
Professor Patrick Murphy, a Lay Member and Ms Colleen Duffy, a Registrant Member are reappointed from 1 October 2020 to a date not later than 30 September 2024.
The procedure for these appointments is not bound by the Code of Practice issued by the Commissioner for Public Appointments for Northern Ireland; however the appointment process was carried out in the ‘spirit of the Code’.

Appointment of Members to the Board of the NI Housing Executive
18 November 2020
Communities Minister Carál Ní Chuilín has appointed Chris Welch and Pauline Leeson as Board Members of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) with effect from 1 November 2020 until 31 October 2025.
Mr Welch previously served as an NIHE Board Member from 1 August 2019 to 30 June 2020.

Reappointment of Utility Regulator Board members
23 October 2020
The Department of Finance has reappointed Mr Jon Carlton and Mr Alex Wiseman as non-Executive members of the Board of the Utility Regulator for a period of five years.
The reappointments are effective from 1st November 2020 and have been made in accordance with the Commissioner for Public Appointments for Northern Ireland’s Code of Practice.
Chairperson appointed to Civil Service Pension Board

The Department of Finance has announced the appointment of Mr Bumper Graham as the new Chairperson of the Northern Ireland Civil Service Pension Board.
The Board was established on 1 April 2015 in accordance with the Public Service Pension Act (NI) 2014. It assists the Department in achieving compliance with the pension scheme regulations and other legislation relating to the governance and administration of the scheme and requirements imposed by the Pensions Regulator.
Mr Bumper Graham took up the position on 29 September 2020 for a period of three years.

Extension to term of appointment of Members of the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI) Board
16 October 2020
DAERA Minister, Edwin Poots MLA, has announced an extension to the term of appointment for ten Members of the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI) Board.
The appointment of Board Members Ian Buchanan and Maureen Brunt will be extended to 31 December 2020 whilst the terms of Michelle Costello-Smith, Theresa Cullen, Fiona Hanna, Richard Horton, Joan Houston, Sharon Smyth and Richard Solomon will all be extended until 31 December 2021. Kate Burns will also receive an extension to her second term until 30 September 2023.
Mr Poots said: “These extensions will provide continuity to the AFBI Board during a period of transition, allowing new members time to bed in, and enable AFBI to continue with its important function of undertaking scientific work for DAERA.”
