On Leadership in 2020

There can be no doubt we are in the middle of a perfect storm: the ongoing disruption of COVID-19 has given rise to an unprecedented mental health crisis and economic fallout, adding to the already substantial pressure on our public services. Meanwhile, as we move towards the end of the year and further into the transition period, we will likely become ever more aware of the uncertainties and potential impact of Brexit.

It is in this context that we are delighted to welcome Neil Gibson, Chief Economist with EY, who will set out his view of the key issues. We will then hear reflections from several key members and broaden the discussion to consider how we can think and act collaboratively and individually, to build resilience and, harnessing the new potential unlocked by the recent disruption, consider opportunities to reinvigorate our leadership response based on strong public service values.
